Mining the Deeper Value of Sustainability was the theme of the Women’s Network for a Sustainable Future’s Annual Summit in NYC this October. It was held in conjunction with the Institute of International Education at the UN Plaza. Laura Turner Seydel, daughter of the media mogul/philanthropist, Ted Turner, keynoted the conference with a very informed discussion on environmental health hazards for mothers and children in the marketplace, home products, building materials, cosmetics, and clothes. Shannon Schuyler shared her story working with PwC in Bolvia, Robyn Scott spoke with great passion and story on her new social media platform, One Leap; and Mary Capozzi (Best Buy) joined Vickie Tillman (McGraw-Hill), Caterina Conti (Anvil Knitwear), and Anne Hoskins (PSEG) on a panel led by Betty Liu from Bloomberg TV to share their creative solutions to integrating the sustainability agenda into their core corporate business structure, communications, and management. The Summit was sponsored by Intel, PwC, McGraw-Hill, PSEG, Bentley, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, and BIG. Eikosphere filmed and recorded the sessions and interviewed key presenters.
