COP 16, Cancun, Mexico, December 2010
Eikosphere partnered with 360 Media, Euphoria, Alcatraz, Cacao Productions in constructing The Living Forest Pavilion™, a unique structure comprised of an immersive multimedia dome theatre and forum for dialogue. The design of the Living Forest was based on the core vision of the Living Earth Legacy Pavilion™ conceived by Eikosphere.LLC. Design elements for the Living Forest at the Climate Village, COP 16 included the 3D feature film and dialogue, a multimedia mood sequence accompanied by lounge music, and the Mayan Forest Bar serving a menu of special Eco-Cocktails from 10am-10pm, daily throughout the conference.
Over 35,000 people enjoyed the Living Forest. Many school groups with children K-12 grade came to the pavilion every day; followed by their families and Climate Village concert-goers at night. In addition, In Lak’ech Ala K’in screened at the Climate Village concert every night in front of Willie Sousa’s beautiful celebration of Mexico. The concert attracted literally 1,000’s of people each night, and at the climax on Thursday night over 40,000 people were counted.
