San Francisco, CA, USA October 2011
The Innovation Forum led by GreenBiz and hosted by leading edge companies like Autodesk, Nike,HP, Steelcase, Solandra, and Green Order was a creative mix of presentation, panel, insight, and collaborative activities on the streets of San Francisco. The days were filled with gems of insight into how companies (small and large) can innovate with internal and external partners to ensure their resilience and viability as market leaders in the long term. Mark Vachon, GE EcoImagination Director, stated the importance for companies to continually challenge existing technologies and introduce new, potentially disruptive ideas. Robert Sheldon offered a minute insight, suggesting the Sustainability Director could serve as an integrating hub among typically siloed business units within a company to stimulate multi-disciplinary problem-solving and innovation.
